Inside the Limited Edition Nike 20XI

April 10, 2011 – As part of of our ongoing testing and research we routinely cut golf balls in half to examine and photograph for GolfBallSelector.com’s Digital Golf Ball Catalog. Shown in this video is the 2011 Limited Edition 20XI-S and 20XI-X, both four-piece design golf balls.

Coinciding with the 2011 Masters Tournament, Nike Golf introduced the new 20XI line of premium golf balls. The Limited Edition golf ball feature green colored Nike swoosh logos and numbers. The 20XI is a 4-piece ball that is available in two models – the 20XI-X and the 20XI-S. According to Nike, The 20XI-X model features less spin and a slightly higher compression and slightly harder cover – designed to promote distance – while the 20Xi-S model features more spin with slightly less compression and cover hardness – engineered for increased spin and control. Central to the ball construction is its injected molded core out of a proprietary resin from DuPont Corporation. This allowed Nike to create a ball with greater MOI meaning less twisting ball flight. The ball’s lighter core weight allows more weight to be applied to the outer 3 layers two of which are urethane for softer feel. The 20XI balls will be available nationally the last week in April and will retail for $45.99 per dozen.
