Brad

Thanks for your comment. Our initial testing indicated that this golf ball is in the lower half of the driver spin category of golf balls tested to date. It is important to use caution attempting to isolate any one factor that dominates golf ball performance. Optimal driver performance comes from the right combination of ball speed, launch, and spin and properly fitted club for any given golfer's swing characteristics. For this reason, we are careful to make generalized application statements regarding each of these factors independently.

The write up states that this is a lower spinning ball off the driver for slower swingers. But don't most slower swingers need to get higher launch angles and higher spin to keep the ball in the air longer? Note that I said most, not all.

Here's a quote from Tom Wishon's site on this topic:

"Rarely will golfers who can generate a ball speed lower than 155 mph benefit from using a clubhead or ball that generates lower backspin with the driver. This is because at 155mph ball speed) can really benefit from less spin on the ball." (emphasis added)

Excellent ball for those that want the feel and performance of the ProV1 but do not have the swing speed for that ball. Seniors who were stronger players earlier in their golfing career but do not want to sacrifice distance for feel should try this ball. The price point makes this a nice alternative and the service from Bridgestone to the PGA pro is fantastic.
